We just has our first extended hands-free feeding of Mr. Nicholas. By hands-free I mean my hands were free. Not his.

Productivity. Pass it on.

Nicholas and I braved frigid winter temperatures in the mid-50s and an unrelenting light drizzle to get to our local florist to pick up a custom bouquet of flowers for Jennifer's birthday.

While trying to take this picture, Nicholas dumped the full vase on the floor. So Jennifer gets some extra laundry for her birthday too.

Nicholas has outgrown his mini-suitcase bed. He spends the night tossing and turning, rolling from one side to the other and eventually all the way out of his bed.

For his first flight, we stuck Nicholas in the middle seat. Seat 8E. We figured he was small enough that being squeezed into a coach class middle seat wouldn't bother him too much. Here he is complaining that his dad is invading his personal space.

He did great on the flight. He slept for all but the last five minutes which he spent looking out the window, checking out the overhead lighting, and watching the on board TVs.

We did what we could to make it easy for him. We gave him his bottle and pacifier to deal with cabin pressure changes during take-off and landing which may or may not have helped. We arrived an hour and a half early so that any delay getting through the airport wouldn't result in a mad dash with a bouncing baby. But most importantly, we flew on a Tuesday evening so the plane was only three quarters full.

Hopefully all our flights go as smoothly as the first.
